2nd Meeting: Scanning

After learning about interpretative reading on the first meeting, now I moved into the 2nd meeting it was about scanning. Scanning in reading is reading a text quickly in order to find specific information, e.g. figures or names. It can be contrasted with skimming, which is reading quickly to get a general idea of meaning. So in this part I have to reading the text quickly to find an information that were needed.

For scanning activities my lecturer gave my class nine activities about scanning and each of activities have a different kinds of reading that should be scanned. The nine activities was a quizzes and each quiz has 30 minutes time limit so I have to fast as possible and focus on the reading. The things that should be scanned was something like a newspaper ads, table of atomics, magazine articles, and many more! Skinning actually pretty fun to do, but don't ever did it if you feel sleepy because you can't focus about what you read and what you should search.
